Who is responsible for your data?

This website is a personal portfolio published by Laurent (see Legal Notice for full identification). For any question about your personal data, please use the contact form.

What data is collected, and why

Contact form. When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you provide, along with your IP address and the submission date. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is stored in a database on our hosting server. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Security (login protection). The site records the IP address and timestamp of failed login attempts on the admin area, for a limited time, in order to block repeated automated attacks. This is a legitimate security interest and does not identify visitors individually.

Language preference. Your choice of language (French/English) is kept for the duration of your visit only, using a technical session cookie that is strictly necessary for the site to function. It is deleted when you close your browser and requires no consent under GDPR/ePrivacy rules, as it performs no tracking.

Visit statistics (no cookie). To measure the site's audience reliably (counting each visitor only once per day, and knowing which country visits come from), your IP address is used at the moment of your visit to: (1) determine your country, using a database stored on our own server — your IP is never sent to any third party; and (2) compute a pseudonymous identifier, a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of your IP address and browser type, made with a secret key specific to this site. Your IP address itself is never stored. We record alongside this fingerprint: the pages viewed, the date, the country, the type of device (mobile, tablet, computer), the language, and, when the browser sends it, the domain you came from (e.g. "google.com") — never the full referring URL. No cookie is placed and nothing is read from your device. This data is used only for the site's own audience statistics, on the basis of our legitimate interest, and is never shared. Addresses that returned a "page not found" error are also logged, solely to fix broken links. Country data: IP Geolocation by DB-IP. When you open a photo in full size in the public gallery, this is counted in the same way (photo, date, pseudonymous identifier, country), to know which photos are the most viewed.

Private galleries. If you have been given access to a private gallery, the site records when it is opened and downloaded and when a selection is sent (date, type of device and country — never your IP address), and keeps the photos you mark with a ♥ along with the optional message sent with your selection. This information is used only by the photographer to follow up on your order, and is deleted together with the gallery.

Google reCAPTCHA

The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps distinguish human visitors from automated spam. When you use the contact form, Google may collect technical information (such as your IP address and browser behaviour) to assess this. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent data controller, under its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We use reCAPTCHA solely to keep the contact form free of spam and abuse.

What we do not do

This site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party audience-measurement tool (e.g. Google Analytics): visit statistics are computed by the site itself, on its own server, as described above. Fonts and all other page resources — except the reCAPTCHA widget described above — are served directly from this site's own server, with nothing loaded from Google or any other third party.

How long is data kept?

  • Contact form messages: kept until manually deleted by the site administrator, or for a maximum of 3 years without further exchange.
  • Failed login attempts: automatically deleted after at most 20 minutes, once no longer needed for security purposes.
  • Visit statistics: automatically deleted after 13 months.
  • Private gallery follow-up (openings, downloads, selection): deleted together with the gallery.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your personal data, as well as the right to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, please use the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).

Hosting

This site and its data are hosted by OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France — a French company, so your data stays within the European Union.
